Fable is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. Fable is the first new installment in the franchise since Lionhead Studios's Fable: The Journey in 2012 and is the first mainline installment developed by Playground Games. The game is scheduled to be released on 23 February 2027, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Unlike the previous games in the series, Fable is not a continuation of the original trilogy and does not follow its established timeline or characters. Instead, it serves as a new beginning that reimagines the world of Albion while retaining elements of the original games, including moral choices, player freedom, British humor, and the concept of Heroes.
